Three separate investigations are being carried out amid allegations that Yems segregated footballers from ethnically diverse backgrounds from white colleagues at Crawley Town FC, an act that can only be described as modern-day apartheid.Multiple players have accused Yems of repeatedly using offensive racist language and forcing non-white players to use different changing rooms while making comments such as “don’t change in the black boys’ room”. Yems has also been accused of referring to players of an Asian heritage as “terrorists, suicide bombers and curry munchers” among many other slurs directed towards Asian and black players.
Sky Sports News stated that seven footballers have made complaints to the Professional Footballer’s Association (PFA), along with this, the Football Association (FA) and Crawley Town FC’s new American owners have begun investigating the allegations against Yems. Since his suspension last month, Yems has left his position at Crawley Town with “immediate effect”, the club reported in a statement earlier this month. Although Yems has refused to comment on the allegations against him, it is believed he denies them. This news is currently ongoing, with updates coming in fast. We Stand as One will continue to report findings on a regular basis, stay tuned.
